The Space Coast Stadium is the Spring Training home of the Washington Nationals Baseball Team and the regular season home of the Brevard County Manatees. The stadium opened in 1994 and sits on land contributed by The Viera Company. It can seat as many as 8,100 fans, with a 404-foot centerfield wall and 340 feet in right and left field.

From mid-January to mid-February, coaches and players arrive to prepare for the
Spring Training game schedule for the Washington Nationals major league baseball
team. Games are played through the month of March with both National League and
American League teams coming to Viera for scheduled competition. The surrounding
practice fields are used by National and Manatee players that remain here for
additional training from February through October.

The Brevard County Manatees

The summer home of the Class-A-Advanced Brevard County Manatees of the Florida
State League and they are an affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. The summer
afternoons are filled with cheers from the crowd as the residents support the
local teams. Events and celebrations are held at the Stadium all year long. The
Viera Future Foundation organizes a well-attended 4th of July game event every
year called the Great American Celebration with the Manatees. Viera residents
can gather on the berm and enjoy a night of baseball, great food and fireworks. |
