Review Process

As a development of regional impact, the West Viera plan will be subject to a great deal of scrutiny and regulation, more than most other smaller development projects.

The review process is governed by a number of laws and regulations, including those for developments of regional impact, local government comprehensive plan amendments, Brevard County zoning, and several other environmental permitting requirements.

The DRI process includes three public hearings, and the application for West Viera will be reviewed by Brevard County, the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council, the St. Johns River Water Management District, the Department of Environmental Protection, the Department of Community Affairs, the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the Florida Department of Transportation, and other agencies.
